Woodworking is my way of life.

I’m Matthew Peech, a husband, father of four, and a lifelong maker who believes anyone can create something meaningful with their hands. I grew up in a small town in Kentucky, surrounded by the outdoors and the inspiration to build.

Woodworking became a way for me to express creativity, solve problems, and connect with the world around me. As a kid, I spent my time working with my father in our family business, focused on hardwood flooring from reclaimed materials. I fell in love with the idea of transforming raw wood into something useful and beautiful. That fascination grew as I got older, turning woodworking from a hobby into a passion that’s now my life’s work.

From Nurse to Maker

For 15 years, I worked as a registered nurse, drawn to the challenge of solving problems and helping others. During the pandemic, I found myself turning more toward woodworking, not just as a creative outlet, but as a way to teach my kids practical skills while they were stuck at home. It started with small projects around the house, but I realized this could be something bigger when I began sharing my work online.

What started as a joke with my kids—challenging them to see who could gain more followers on TikTok—evolved into a community of people eager to learn the basics of woodworking. Adults and kids alike reached out, sharing how much they wanted to try making something but felt unsure where to start.

A Mission to Inspire

Through platforms like TikTok and YouTube, I began sharing woodworking tutorials, tips, and full project builds. What I discovered was incredible: thousands of people were not just watching—they were taking action. They were building, creating, and learning. Messages started pouring in from people sharing how woodworking had changed their lives. Some said it gave them confidence; others said it helped them provide for their families during tough times.

This isn’t just a side hustle or a fun hobby for me anymore—it’s a way to inspire and empower others. Whether it’s helping someone build their first project or guiding them toward creating a side business, woodworking has become a vehicle for change.

Building More Than Projects

Today, I focus on teaching woodworking in a way that’s approachable and rewarding for anyone, regardless of skill level. My course, Woodworking Kickstart, is designed to help beginners gain the confidence to build. It’s not just about mastering techniques or completing projects; it’s about creating something that carries meaning, whether it’s a gift for someone you love, furniture for your home, or a way to generate extra income.

I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing companies like Carhartt, creating a piece for their Detroit headquarters that blends their history with my own. But what brings me the most joy is hearing from people who say, “Because of you, I took the leap and built something.”

Why I Do This

At the heart of everything I create is one goal: to build people up. I know how intimidating woodworking can feel when you’re just starting out, but I also know how life-changing it can be when you take that first step.

This is why I say, “You’ve got this.” Whether you’re building for fun, for profit, or to create something meaningful for your family, I believe in you. My hope is that through this community and my courses, you’ll find the inspiration and confidence to create something incredible.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s make something amazing together.

Warm regards,

Matthew Peech
